Easily Go Back to Windows 7 or 8.1 from Windows 10

May 20, 2016

Did you wake up and mysteriously your computer now has windows 10 installed? Did you upgrade to Windows 10 and now miss your previous operating system (7, 8.1)? So long as you used the Windows upgrade process to install windows 10 and its been less then 30 days since it was upgraded, you can easily revert back to Windows 7 or 8.1.

First visit Microsoft  and review the necessary steps to revert back to previous operating system. I’ll go ahead and paste them below: go back to windows 8 from 10

Applies to Windows 10

  • If it’s been less than a month since you upgraded to Windows 10, you can go back to your previous version of Windows by going to Settings > Update & security > Recovery  and selecting either Go back to Windows 7 or Go back to Windows 8.1. This won’t affect your personal files, but it will remove any apps you installed after the upgrade to Windows 10. Learn more.

  • If it’s been more than a month, this option won’t be available in Settings and you’ll need to use a different recovery option.

That’s all it takes and you should be returned back to your original Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 operating system. If you are having additional issues, this method fails to work or you would like professional assistance please contact us for more help.
