Job Summary

In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware and software issues on various platforms, including Mac and PC, laptops, desktops, and gaming computers. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional customer service, communication, and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Diagnose and repair hardware and software problems with both Mac and PC computers, including laptops, desktops, and gaming PCs. Install, build, and replace computer parts and software on different Mac and PC brands.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing clients’ concerns, explaining repair procedures, and offering solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members to ensure clear understanding of technical issues and solutions.
  • The position entails traveling to clients’ homes or offices to provide on-site service as necessary, typically on every other shift at a minimum.
  • Organize and prioritize repair tasks efficiently to meet service deadlines.
  • Demonstrate strong deductive and problem-solving skills to identify the root causes of computer issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and be trained on the latest computer technologies and repair techniques.
  • Ability to follow directions and adhere to repair procedures to ensure consistency and quality in service delivery.
  • Take the initiative to practice and refine repair skills at home to enhance technical expertise.
  • Perform most of the service tasks in our repair shop, ensuring a controlled environment and access to necessary equipment.

Qualifications and Skills Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 months of experience working in a current or previous computer repair shop is required for this position. Candidates without this experience will not be considered at this time.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are essential requirements for joining our team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with additional technical certifications being a plus.
  • Proven experience in computer hardware and software troubleshooting and repair.
  • Strong technical knowledge of both Mac and PC operating systems and components.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized, with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Solid deductive reasoning and problem-solving abilities to address complex computer issues.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and stay updated on the latest technological advancements.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Flexibility to travel to client locations for occasional onsite service.
  •  Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Drug-free work environment.
  • Must submit to a background check.
  • Must be punctual and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance.

80 Hours of Immersive & Hands-On Computer Training

Our comprehensive instruction and training program are designed to provide hands-on familiarization with various computer repairs, troubleshooting, and equipment. In addition to practical experience, we will cover our policies and procedures using a variety of resources, including videos, books, one-on-one training, and more. Our goal is to enhance the technicians’ existing skills and equip all team members with the necessary knowledge and expertise to excel in their respective roles.

Compensation

  • Senior Technician with Experience – Starting at $17 to $18 per hour or DOE, flexible hours (Monday to Friday with optional Saturday), 30-35 hours per week.
  • Junior Technician for Training with Some Experience – Starting at $15.00 to $16.00 per hour or DOE, flexible hours (Monday to Friday with optional Saturday), 15-25 hours per week.
  • Additional hourly pay is provided for employees with the ability to conduct both in-home and in-office service visits.
  • Monthly bonuses are awarded based on performance.
