Remote Service Instructions

Splashtop SOS Remote Support:

This program enables remote access to a computer from another computer in a separate location. The access code you provide to the technician is valid for a single instance and changes after each use. A computer technician must initiate the remote connection once provided with the access code. Without a valid access code, a remote connection cannot occur.


To Install Splashtop SOS for the First Time on a Computer:

1. Click the appropriate link to download SPLASHTOP SOS onto your computer:
– For PC: (https://sos.splashtop.com/en/sos-download)
– For Mac: (https://download.splashtop.com/sos/SplashtopSOS.dmg)

2. A small program will be downloaded to your computer. Please follow the onscreen prompts to allow the program to be downloaded.

3. Launch the downloaded program. (It may be in your Downloads folder.)

4. Send us the 9-digit access code displayed from the program once it’s running. (see example photo)

5. Call or text this access code to: (402) 812-5130 or email it to: [email protected]. Please Note: This program will generate a unique, one-time passcode each time it’s launched. The single-use passcode is not reusable for future remote sessions.

6. When you want to end the support session, be sure to quit the program. (This ensures your computer cannot be remotely accessed anymore until you download and run the program again.)

Mac Users: You may be prompted to open your System Preferences, Security & Privacy panel to grant Splashtop SOS access to your screen, hard drive, and other features. It is essential to allow the technician helping you access to these items for them to connect to your computer properly. If you do not grant proper access to these items, we will be unable to provide remote computer services to you. In such a case, please contact us to schedule a service call to your home or office, or you can bring the computer to our Omaha office for service.

All Users: Our remote computer service operates on a pre-pay basis only. We will only offer post-payment or billing services to businesses or entities that have completed the necessary forms to establish a billing account with us. We will not provide any remote service without advance payment for the first hour rate and applicable sales tax. There is a minimum charge of one hour for this service.

Please be Prompt & Prepared for Your Appointment. Arriving 5 minutes early will allow for proper setup and connection. If you are late, we will wait only 5 minutes past your scheduled appointment before canceling it and moving on to another. Please have your computer issues and related questions listed and ready for the technician assisting you. This will save you time and ensure you receive the best service available.
